Linux distribution is better to use as a server?

Hello everyone, I'm new here.

I commented that I have an x86 PC with a micro of approximately 1.2 ghz and 1 gb of RAM and I want to use it as a server.

For now I do not intend to open the ports to enter from the Internet, but I want to go practicing to learn what I can and once it feels more practical to allow access from the outside.

Looking for distributions, I have been recommended to use Tiny Core. I have tried it, I have installed Samba and some other thing and it has gone very well. Although I notice that the packages are .tcz and I see that it is a community that costs to get information too; It makes me question if I'm choosing the right distribution (in terms of security I do not know how safe it will be).

What am I looking for?
I have no problem in handling from the command line (without graphical interface), I would like the commands similar to those used by debian to be valid, for example: apt-get, sudo, mkfs.ext4, etc.
Make it light, stable and safe.
If possible, do not load any unnecessary service.
Low RAM consumption.
Install MySQL, FTP, SFTP, etc.
I have read that some have used Arch Linux, Debian, Lubuntu, but I do not know which one will be better. What dou you recommend?
